I am looking at kicking off this weekend in a highly cultural fashion indulging in the sounds of Windfire – A festival of Music in Geelong’s Churches. Proudly presented by Music At The Basilica Inc. A total of 10 daytime concerts will take place over the weekend within various churches throughout Geelong. There will be a free shuttle bus operating throughout the event and there will be a wide variety of wonderful musical options presented.
I have also been given a leave pass and the credit card and I am off to leisurely wander from one end of our wonderful Pakington Street in Geelong West to the other end finishing in Newtown. I aim to enjoy every retail opportunity on offer. I’m after some winter boots, so will visit Mudges who stock a great variety of fashionable, great quality footwear. I am then going to pop into Benning for a peak at their great variety of women’s clothing and fashion labels. I am looking for some new dress pants, so I know their will lots of great options to choose from. I also need to buy a gift for a friend so Eclectica I know will well fill that criteria with their wonderfully eclectic range of homewares and accessories. Warren and Hutch will no doubt lure me into their divine array of gourmet foods, so it will definitely provide me with something fantastic for our families dinner options. I am up for some new reading glasses and know that I can’t possibly walk passed Eyewear On Pako, who have a sensational range of glasses. So yes off I go. Café Smudge is a must for some takeaway Fairtrade Tea for home (Chai is what I’ll be after) and then it’s into the car off to the Newtown end but before anything I will definitely be well in need of a great coffee and a chocolate or two, Hahndorf Fine Chocolate will definitely fulfil that criteria!
Sunday the aim is a lazy morning then heading down to the waterfront for a long drawn out brekky enjoying the view. I might then pop over to Hedrena who stock the most incredibly soft, lightweight merino wool garments you have ever seen and buy some winter singlets for the kids and perhaps for myself and hubby if any of our colder days are a taste of what is to come. I won’t be able to pass by Noah and Little who have the most superb collection of homewares, jewellery and accessories – A must visit, which I will and must do.
Another great weekend to look forward to.
