Well as cold as it’s been this week, the little dashes of sun on our faces have certainly bought hope that the end of winter is near and with the end of winter comes a mammoth amount of great events and things to do. So I am certainly looking forward to unveiling those in the coming weeks!

This weekend I am going to offer a snapshot of what might be a great way to spend it, so here goes: Central Geelong Farmers Market, I am always very happy to plug this as it’s a great array of fresh produce on offer. Why not head there Saturday morning and fill your shopping bag. Around the corner on Ryrie Street is Pandora’s Art House who are host this coming weekend to the Geelong Potters Exhibition. Why not head there for a delicious big brekky as well as a browse through some great in house art and the annual Geelong Potters Exhibition and perhaps a little splurge? I then recommend a lazy wander through town. On Ryrie there are some great spots to visit: If you are into antiquities then Moorabool Antique Gallery is a must visit. They have over 7000 antiques on show date back 7000 years. They also stock Australia’s largest range of Antique Ceramics. Metropolis Gallery on Ryrie Street, is one of my favourite galleries. Whenever I scoot by I always love whatever they are displaying in their window. Pop your head in for some great artworks on display.

If you head down Moorabool Street, then Fyans Cottage is a retailer of collectable giftware and has grown to become one of the largest of luxury collectable and giftware stores in Rural Victoria. A must visit if you enjoy giftware and homewares….I think we all enjoy those!

If you’re a little crafty unfortunately I do not have that claim to fame, then Jiddi’s Patch on Moorabool Street is the perfect place for those with a material obsession. The staff welcome a little textile therapy. Jiddi’s Patch also hold Needlecraft classes and workshops.

For lunch I definitely recommend the Wool Exchange Entertainment Complex. We were there last week for lunch and I could honestly say that their Gnocchi was amongst the best I have ever had. The atmosphere is great and I am looking forward to when they open up their upstairs venue room which I believe has had some great names perform in the past. A great venue for lunch, functions and all of your entertainment needs. Sit back and relax, enjoy your lunch (I remember the days of leisurely lunches before children) and then head home and if you have eaten too much and live close by perhaps walk home…..

Sunday in our house is family day….so if it’s raining we might go bowling and head to Geelong Bowling Lanes. Games are only $9 each if you present your What’s on voucher. Then I think we might head home for a lazy afternoon. What are you up to this weekend, I hope if you don’t have plans that you now do……Have a great one.
