Kala Homes Local tradies and homebuyers are furious after learning they may not get any money back after the collapse of a local building firm.

Kala Homes went into liquidation last week with the liquidator saying it has debts of more than $1.5-million.

A stream of tradies and suppliers have contacted our newsroom to say they’re owed thousands of dollars.

And people who have homes or pools under construction are worried they may have lost their life’s savings.

At least one couple say they paid a deposit on a new home just weeks before Kala Homes went under and the liquidator says suggestions of possible insolvent trading will be investigated.

A creditors meeting will be held next week but liquidator Grant Thornton says it doesn't believe the company's assets will be enough to cover debts.
