geelongcatslogo Cats coach CHRIS SCOTT says they need to focus more on defence early in games, to try and fix the club's slow starts to matches.

Despite a determined fight back last weekend against Sydney, the Cats lost narrowly after being 35 points down at the first break.

The coach says the coaching staff can make a few changes, but the players have to take responsibility as well.
