cadel evans tour1 Barwon Heads-based cyclist CADEL EVANS concedes his Tour De France title defence is over, after the gruelling 16th stage.

The defending champ lost touch with race leader BRADLEY WIGGINS twice, finishing the leg almost 12-minutes behind French stage winner THOMAS VOECKLER.

He’s dropped to seventh overall in the race, eight minutes and six seconds behind WIGGINS.
